Angler of the Year Banquet...
The photos below are from our Midlands Striper Club Angler of the Year Banquet held Saturday, January 11, 2003, at VFW Post 8738 in Lexington.
Vice-president John Davis watches as registrants line up to pay for meal, dues and tournament fees...aided by Co-TD Terry Allen, Parliamentarian Bob Marshall and Treasurer James Cassell.
VFW Post 8738 was full by mealtime...and extra chairs were brought in for the overflow crowd.
Outgoing President Lee Thomas was emcee for most of the night.
Awards galore awaited the lucky winners..
Pat Robertson and his wife were in attendance. Pat retired from The State newspaper, but continues to write an outdoor column, and often writes of MSC.
Darrell Keith, owner and President of Hydro Glow, one of MSC's premiere sponsors, brought his wife. Member Roger Barron is also a Greenville Striper Kings member and on their Tournament Committee.
Dr. Ben Lanza accepts a plaque for his donations in support of our Youth tournament. Thanks, Ben!
Lifetime member Herb "Cut Bait" Myers and wife Violet enjoy the festivities.
Wynn Corley accepts a plaque on behalf of Sea Hunt Boats, who sponsored our Lady Angler Tournament.
Lots of door prizes were distributed, but this one picked up by 2001 AOTY Billy DuRant was a hit and drew tons of laughter.
