MSC Lady Angler Tournament Photos...
The photos below are from our first (soon to be annual) Midlands Striper Club Lady Angler Tournament held Saturday, May 12, 2001 at Jakes Landing, Lake Murray, S.C.. What a great event ... made possible by lots of hard work from President Lee Thomas, his wife Kathy and a long list of generous sponsors, including Archie Trawick, owner of Jakes Landing and our host.
30 ladies competed on a windy day of slow fishing and caught a total of 18 striped bass weighing 74 pounds, 10 ounces. Each participant fished from 7 a.m. until 12:00 noon and could weigh two fish. The tournament was followed by a lunch of grilled chicken breast sandwiches and all the condiments.
First place: Claire Riley, fishing with Townsend Wessinger.

Second place: Linda Durant, fishing with Billy DuRant.
Total weight of 8 lbs. 7 oz. (2 fish)
Third place: Katie Byrd, fishing with Jim Byrd.
Total weight of 8 lbs. 2 oz.
Big Fish: 6 lbs. 14 oz., caught by 1st Place angler Claire Riley.
