Midlands Striper Club's Annual Angler of the Year/Team of the Year Banquet was held Saturday evening, January 9th, 2010 at Saluda Shoals Park's River Center in Columbia. The event was held in memory of long-time MSC member "Mr. Ed" Woodward of Rock Hill, who passed away July 29, 2009 after a long bout with cancer.
The club presented Lee "Catchall" Thomas of Leesville with it's coveted 2009 Angler of the Year jacket. Thomas held off all competition to win his unprecedented sixth Angler of the Year crown. Finishing second in AOTY was James "Fogman" Lindler of West Columbia. Third place for the year went to Tom Gitto of Chapin.

Littlejohn's fish, caught February 21 2009, weighed 17 pounds, 12 ounces. The club's 2009 Youth Angler of the Year trophy was presented to Weston Thomas of Lexington, who also won the award in 2008.
Team of the Year jackets were presented to Team Wildman, consisting of Team Captain Donnie Christopher and son Justin Christopher, both of Rock Hill, Skip Morgan, also of Rock Hill and 2008 Angler of the Year Danny Young of Sumter. Finishing second in Team of the Year competition was Team Catchall, consisting of Lee Thomas and Kreg Frady, both of Leesville.
